    Hi,

Ice 3.4.2 doesn't work out-of-the box on Windows 8. A change in the Windows socket implementation is causing Ice to assert on connection establishment. To prevent this assert, you need to remove line 292 in Ice-3.4.2/cpp/src/Ice/TcpTransceiver.cpp (the line _desc = fdToString(_fd);). We didn't try Ice-E yet.

    Cheers,
    Benoit.

    Thanks very much!
Hope Ice can run various kinds device!

Maybe one day, ZeroC could build an application market named as ICE cloud, the distributed appliction running on any device can use the service on the cloud....
