Security on local network

Hi guys,
If many clients and servers are all deployed on a single internal network (many machines), Is it ok to use glacier2 in order to authenticate/filter client requests on each machine (assuming no firewalls between those machines).
In other words, does ICE support a certain model for security, or we have to build this capacity in the app we are developping ?
