Quick Start Guide for ICE, SLICE, etc.

I'm overwhelmed by the number of pages in the manual. I'd appreciate if someone could create a Quick Start Guide/An Intro to beginners for ICE/Slice, etc.

The Hello World example in the Ice manual is quite short. Give it a try!
