slice2xxx does nothing
I'm having a very frustrating problem: yesterday I changed a slice definition file slightly, used slice2cpp on it (I'm using 3.2.0 on windows xp), and nothing happened. I tried *all* the options, tried slice2java and all other slice2xxx programs--nothing. Inserting gibberish into the file, which would normally produce an error, does nothing. I've rebooted, uninstalled and reinstalled Ice, tested different definition files, tried it under different shells (cmd.exe and cygwin bash under both litestep and win explorer), searched for the missing output files on my hard drive, all without success. On other computers everything works fine. The only way I can get it to even output anything other than the help message is by passing a non-.ice file argument, or an .ice file name that doesn't exist.
Am I going insane? Upgrading to 3.2.1 would be painful for me at this time. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Changing ComSpec back worked, thank you. I guess I didn't search the forums deeply enough. In my defense, I wasn't getting any error messages at all (even with stuff like -E), which is different from what's mentioned in the thread.0
