ZeroC is pleased to announce the beta release of Ice for Swift. This latest addition to Ice allows you to create Swift apps for iOS and macOS with Ice.

Built on top of Ice for C++, Ice for Swift provides a complete client and server run-time, with support for synchronous and asynchronous invocations and dispatches, and most features provided by other language mappings.

Ice for Swift beta supports Swift 5 on macOS and iOS. You can start using it right away. For more information, including installation instructions, please refer to the release notes. A new chapter of the Ice Manual describes the Slice to Swift mapping, and you will find new Swift sample programs in the ice-demos GitHub repository.

We encourage you to try out this beta, and we look forward to getting your feedback.
