An IceGrid server is incarnated by an operation system process or executable whereas an IceGrid service is incarnated by an IceBox service which is provided as a separate library (C++ dynamic library, Jar file or C# assembly). See the IceBox chapter in the manual for more information on IceBox services.

    Cheers,
    Benoit.
