how about ICE for JavaME?

yunyingyunying Member Xinyi TanOrganization: Univ. of Elec. Sci. & Tech. of ChinaProject: webserver providing information to mobile deivces
hello,everybody!

It is said that ICE is an excellent middleware, and I have an experiment about the network programming so I plan to use ICE to finish it.

But now I have some questions. I know that in IceE1.3.0, the newest edition of IceE which targets the mobile phone, there is no IceEJ. But in the early editions we really have it.

Then, should i choose IceE1.2.0 to empolder the software for mobile phone? Or Ice has other better solutions?

thank you, looking forward your reply!

We removed support for J2ME due to lack of interest from commercial customers. If you have commercial interest, please contact [email protected].

We are just going to take a researchful project by using Ice.
At the servers we use c++ while at the clients we use IceEJ.
Then we don't know which edition of Ice we should choose to write the slice file.
That is to say, can Ice3.3 and IceE1.2 use a same slice file? are there any problems if so?

Yes, Ice 3.3 and Ice-E 1.2 should be able to use the same Slice.
