Thrift or ProtocolBuffers with Ice on iOS

Hello,
is anyone using Thrift or ProtocolBuffers with Ice on iOS? It seems that the iOS ProtocolBuffers project is no longer active and i haven't gotten it to work with the latest Xcode and iOS SDK. Thrift seems a bit more active on the iOS front. I have gotten thrift files and the thrift runtime to compile under Xcode.
Was wondering if there are any users here who use Thrift with Ice?
