Glacier2 Needs Public IP

Does Glacier2 absolutely need to be on the public and private networks?

I have Glacier2 sitting behind a NAT router; will that be a significant problem when clients over the internet try to connect/use bidirectional connections?

If so, is there any way to configure glacier2 to work around the private network even though it can't bind on the public IP address?
