Linux installation problem

Hello,

I know that there ar a lot of examples but I'm a absolut ICE and Linux beginner.
Has somebody an detailed list of an ICE Java Linux installation where all prog. and libraries are listed which I need to develop ICE applications?
I would like to use Suse or would it be better to use others distri.?

I tried with Suse 9.0 Yast (with the Fedora rpm packet ice-2.1.2-1.i386.rpm) but there I've got so many exeptions caused by dependence.
Or is it better to compile it?
But how?
I don't know

Please

Thanks a lot

If you install fedora core 3 the README.LINUX that comes with the linux distribution is very precise in what you need to install. If you use a different distribution, you'll need to use whatever scheme is used to distribute binary packages, or build the packages yourself from source.

In either case README.LINUX contains all the information you need.
