Visual Studio extension doesn't work with Express Edition

I have Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition, and the Visual Studio Extension won't install. It says "Unable to find a valid Visual Studio Installation". Is this intended?

    Not so much intended as required. It is not legal to write extensions for express editions of Visual Studio.

    Aha, okay then -- I'll let my colleague who does use full Visual Studio about the extension; I was just trying to test it out for her, but I guess she can do that herself. :)
