Best way to install Ice 3.4 on Ubuntu?
The list of platforms at http://www.zeroc.com/platforms_3_4_0.html doesn't include Ubuntu, and the packages in apt only provide Ice 3.3.1. Would the best way to get the latest and greatest version be to build it from source? Or did someone have success converting RPM packages using alien?

I have contacted the Debian Maintainer last week to ask about the status of 3.4. He did not reply yet. I plan to provide Debian packages within the next 2 weeks.
Until then you can give alien a try ......0 -
