about NAT

can ICE run on internet through firewall and NAT ?

I know Gliacer can do it, but I wonder confirm if ICE client behide a firewall with NAT, how to get the public IP address ? or client should not get it?

  • Yes, an Ice client can be behind a NAT firewall. If it's a pure client, you don't need to do anything special. If your client also receives callbacks, you must use Glacier as the server-side firewall (but nothing special is needed for the client-side). For more information, please see the Glacier chapter in the Ice manual.
